The Children’s Ministry of HCO is an effort to partner with Haitian Christians to develop a lasting impact through the continuation of the Gospel. In partnership with the staff of Emmanuel Christian School, we continue to strive to do something for Haiti that will last by providing a quality education, biblical grounding and physical nourishment to help build a new generation. Our current school system runs from Pre-K-9th grade. We hope to add 10th grade in the Fall of 2006. But this is contingent on funding.
The Haitian Christian Outreach Children’s Fund provides food, education, uniforms and health care to more than 1200 students in 3 different schools. It is funded in three basic ways: Class Sponsorship—Individuals or groups can partner with one of our Haitian teachers to change the life of an entire class by sending a minimum of $50 per month to become a class sponsor. Class sponsors will receive a picture of the class, a picture of the teacher and basic information about the class. Class sponsorships cover the teacher’s salary and school supplies. Some sponsors may choose to help with Christmas gifts or other special needs throughout the school year. Those choosing to sponsor a class should indicate their preference of grade (Pre-K through 9th) when the send their first contribution. We will attempt to assign you to the grade you prefer.
NOTE: The number of Sponsors varies depending on the teacher’s salary, location and the cost of supplies for that class. An average class costs $300 per month.  Child Scholarship—Individuals or groups can also chose to provide for the needs of one child by sending $25 per month to HCO and designating it for the Children’s Fund. Children’s Fund Gift— Individuals or groups may chose to made donations to the children’s fund. Gifts to the children’s fund help us provide needed nourishment, uniforms, school supplies, etc. For example, some have contributed towards the Breakfast Program that currently costs us approximately $800 per month.
