National Leaders

Toto baptizing a new believer.

Our leaders mentor and disciple Haitian leadership as we plant new churches.  Mature believers are being trained to support current church leadership and in preparation for new church plants.

Church Planting

Equipping indigenous leaders

The church is Christ’s body. It’s influenced by its environment, community, pastor, leaders and people. As the community struggles or prospers, so the church may do the same. In addition to these factors, the Haitian church has also experienced government instability and natural disasters – hurricanes and the earthquake – which has shaped its journey.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, the church is alive and well in Haiti. Leaders are being trained, people are coming to faith, ministry is expanding, and God is at work. Indigenous leaders in all of our churches are stepping up and taking responsibility.

All of our churches are called Emmanuel Christian Church, followed by the location.  We have planted churches in these locations:

Christian Camp
Dormitory at the Christian Camp in Peredo, Haiti

HCO was proud to build the first Christian Service Camp in Haiti. We hosted our first campers in September, 2010. More than 50 young adults from Port-au-Prince participated, with the worship band from Emmanuel Christian Church. The best part of the week was seeing young people make decisions for Christ.

Located in Peredo, in the Southeastern Department, the camp consists of 6 dormitories and a dining hall. Our vision for this facility is to provide opportunities for all of the mission works and churches in Haiti to develop leaders through retreats and weeks of camp.

The camp was built through partnerships with Round Lake Christian Service Camp in Ohio, and Rainbow Christian Camp and Camp Allendale Christian Camp in Indiana, as well as several short-term teams.
